BENALMADENA
Benalmadena is one of the most popular resorts on the Malaga coast of the Costa del Sol. In addition to seasonal tourists, Benalmadena is home to a large number of foreigners, mostly British.
In Benalmadena (in Arroyo de la Miel), the Tivoli World amusement park and the Teleférico de Benalmádena cable car operate from Arroyo de la Miel station to the top of Mount Calamorro with a height of 771 meters.
Benalmadena Pueblo is home to the Sea Life Aquarium and the Selwo Marina Dolphinarium.
The Colomares Castle in Benalmadena houses the smallest chapel in the world, Santa Isabel de Ungria in Colomares. The interior area of this irregularly shaped building is only 1.96 m2
In Benalmadena, in 2003, the largest stupa in the Western world was built — the Stupa of Enlightenment (33 meters high), the seventeenth and last stupa built by Rinpoche Lopon Tsechu in Europe and the Caucasus.
